Texas Christian University Scharbauer Hall
Fort Worth, TX
Scharbauer Hall is a 70,000 square foot, four-story academic building and a dominant feature located at the east end of the campus quadrangle.
CJG Engineers selected a cast-in-place concrete, post-tensioned flat slab structural system to maximize bay size yet maintain a thin floor profile. By minimizing the depth of the structure, we allowed our client to utilize a reduced floor-to-floor dimension, decreasing the overall building height by four feet when compared to a conventional concrete system. As a result, the owner realized significant savings in material costs and vertical infrastructure requirements.
The project was developed using Building Information Modeling (BIM) and is LEED® Gold Certified.
